Originally from Michigan, Fred moved to California in 1984, started Scottish Country and Highland dancing shortly thereafter, and earned his full Scottish Country Teaching Certificate in 1996.

 

Fred achieved his Highland Dance Teaching Certificate in 1995 and after retiring from active dance competition, added his Highland Dance judging qualification in 2002.

 

Fred has traveled extensively as a dancer, teacher and Highland judge, including all around North America, the UK, Russia and many other European countries and most recently New Zealand.

 

Fred teaches both Country and Highland dancing to all ages in the USA and internationally and is the current Chairman of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society's International Branch.

A member of The Red Thistle Dancers since 1990, Fred is looking forward to furthering the group's mission of sharing and promoting a love of Scottish Dancing and Music to the greater community.
