Sacramento Valley Scottish Games Festival

Woodland, California

Saturday, April 23, 2016

The Red Thistle Dancers performed at the Sacramento Scottish Games Festival, April 23, 2016.

This year was the 140th anniversary of the Caledonian Club of Sacramento, held at the Yolo County Fairgrounds in Woodland, California.  The club was created 100 years after the Declaration of Independence and 26 years after California became a state by a special group of Scots and American-Scots to enjoy their Scottish culture.

The Sacramento Scottish Games strives to provide a similar experience through music, competition, food, lifestyle, and friendships.

The Caledonian Club of Sacramento sponsors this festival to:

  • Provide an arena for Scottish competition and the arts

  • Provide education and entertainment to the public on “things Scottish” in all their cultural aspects

  • Generate funds for charitable gifts and cultural scholarships that are offered by the Caledonian Club
